Advertisements distribute tasks to clients. There are several
important options you must choose when creating an advertisement.
About this task
After saving a task sequence, you can assign the task
sequence to the collection of servers.
- 1. Right-click the task sequence and select Advertise.
- 2. Use the New Advertisement Wizard to
assign the task sequence.
- Always configure advertisements with the following settings
when using the Pre-boot Execution Environment (PXE):

Access content directly from a distribution point
when needed by the running task sequence In WinPE, the
default option of "Download content locally when needed by running
task sequence" does not work. WinPE cause the task sequence engine
to ignore all actions that have packages set for this option.

- If you must remove an advertisement from a specific client
or collection, select the collection or server, right-click the collection
or server; then select the Clear Last PXE Advertisement checkbox.
- If a server is not successfully receiving an advertisement,
check to make sure that you added the MAC address and the GUID for
the target machine to the Configuration Manager database and to a
collection, and that you selected the collection on the General page.
