Importing the servers into the Configuration Manager database

Use the information provided by IBM to put information about the servers in the Configuration Manager database.

  1. Launch Microsoft Configuration Manager 2007 to open the Configuration Manager console.
  2. Click Operating System Deployment > Computer Association > Import Computer Information in the console.

  3. Use the MAC address of the primary NIC and assign a name to each server to import them into the database.
  4. Assign the new computers to a collection that uses direct membership.

    Make sure that there are no other computers in the collection.
